| Glycemic foods (foods to avoid) are food with rapid absorption across the small bowel. This leads to an increase in blood insulin levels and a decrease in blood glucagon levels the hormone that opposes insulin actions, causes hyperlipoidemia (elevated cholesterol and triglycerides). | |
| Glycemic Foods Cause Hunger and Weight Gain |
| Foods with a low glycemic index (acceptable foods) have the opposite effect with a lower insulin blood level and a higher glucagon level which decreases cholesterol, hunger and weight loss. | |
